Six student-musicians from Mineola High School have been accepted to the American Choral Directors Association Eastern Division Honor Choir.

The students will travel to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania to perform under conductor David Fryling in March 2018.

The district congratulates the following students: juniors Josephine Jones, Samantha Trested and Miguel Velasquez and seniors Nathan Bischoff, Katrine Gulinao and Jake Lenze.

Founded in 1959, the American Choral Directors Association is a nonprofit professional organization whose central purpose is to promote excellence in choral music through performance, composition, publication, research and teaching.

In addition, ACDA strives to elevate choral music’s position in American society through arts advocacy.
