Frank Carey High School ninth-grade science research students Lauren Ammendolea, Selin Kahyaoglu, and Smriti Rout recently attended Long Island Science Congress with their teacher Antonia Healy and fellow science research students.
Long Island Science Congress is a science research competition which features science projects completed by more than 1,000 students from various schools throughout Long Island. Lauren, Selin and Smriti’s project, “The Effect of Potassium on the Bioremediation of Oil Spills by Pseudomonas fluorescens,” was one of 13 projects nominated to be presented at the New York State Science Congress at the Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science & Technology in Syracuse on June 8.
