Chabad of Port Washington Hebrew School held a new educational program for its students called the Maccabee Makerspace.

During the Maccabee Makerspace program kids teamed up to use their imaginative and creative powers in Hanukkah-themed activities.

“Most kids I’ve taught learn best when they’re using more than just their minds. STEM activities, like the ones at the Maccabee Makerspace, are the best method for imparting real knowledge to children in a way that they will both enjoy and retain. When they’re working in teams and using their hands, it’s so effective and they love it,” said Rabbi Berel Paltiel, director of the Hebrew School.
