The Island Now

Programs currently airing on Great Neck Public Schools Television (GNPS/TV) are: South High Winter Concert II, North Middle Spotlight, Focus on Education, and South Middle Spotlight.

GNPS/TV programs are available on demand, 24/7, on the school district website, www.greatneck.k12.ny.us (click on the GNPS/TV logo near the top of the main page), or by going directly to http://tv.greatneck.k12.ny.us/on-demand.html.

Programs can also be viewed in the incorporated villages of Great Neck on Cablevision Channel 75 and on Verizon Channel 32. Airing times in program descriptions below are for Cablevision and Verizon viewing.

South High Winter Concert II

South High Winter Concert II featured the Symphonic Band, Symphonic Orchestra, Chamber Choir and Mixed Choir. The Concert was under the direction of Michael Schwartz, performing arts department head/instrumental teacher, and Dr. Janine Robinson, vocal music teacher.

South High Winter Concert II view times are 8 a.m., and 1 and 6 p.m.

North Middle Spotlight

North Middle Spotlight focuses on several events at North Middle School. Highlights include: Valentines for Veterans, the Dancing Classrooms culminating event, highlights from the One Acts, excerpts from the North Middle Winter Concert, and more!

North Middle Spotlight airs at 10 a.m., and at 3 and 8 p.m.

Focus on Education

Focus on Education is an ongoing series hosted by Superintendent Dr. Teresa Prendergast, highlighting what’s new and interesting in the district. This episode features an interview with Dr. Christopher Gitz, the new principal at the William A. Shine Great Neck South High School.

Focus on Education airs at 11 a.m., 4 and 9 p.m.

South Middle Spotlight

South Middle Spotlight takes a look back at some of the segments that originally aired on HTV (Homeroom Television), the live, daily, morning-news show broadcast to South Middle’s students and staff. These segments showcase a variety of events at South Middle, including: Winter Concert, Relay for Life, the opening day of school, Halloween, and more.

South Middle Spotlight airs at 12, 5 and 10 p.m.

GNPS/TV Programming

GNPS/TV programming reflects the offerings of the Great Neck Public Schools and the achievements of its students and staff. Programs are student-produced.
