On April 15, 42 students from Floral Park Memorial High School went to Floral Park-Bellerose School to participate in the Junior Achievement High School Hero program.

The students attended two training sessions to prepare for this event, which included how to prepare lesson plans and activities for elementary age children. The students were then assigned to a kindergarten, first and second grade class and taught them about family and their community.

The event was coordinated by Mrs. Margaret Nelson of the Floral Park business department, who also accompanied them on the trip with Mrs. Erin Sebber and Ms. Annie Tine. New York State Sen. Anna Kaplan also attended and was impressed by both the program and the students.
