GN school board announces absentee ballot deadline for 2019 capital projects proposition

The Island Now

Completed Absentee Ballots from approved applicants must be received by the Great Neck Public Schools District Clerk no later than 5 p.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 3, for the 2019 Capital Projects Proposition.

Qualified resident voters of the school district may obtain applications for absentee ballots for the Dec. 3 vote from the district website (www.greatneck.k12.ny.us/2019proposition), or from the Office of the District Clerk in the Phipps Admin. Building, 345 Lakeville Road, on school days from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Qualified voters whose registration records are marked “permanently disabled” are automatically sent Absentee Ballots.

The proposed $9,749,469 Capital Projects Proposition focuses on the construction of additional classrooms to address space constraints at E.M. Baker School and Lakeville School. The total cost of these construction projects will be funded from the District’s unassigned fund balance.

Voters must authorize the District to transfer funds from the unassigned fund balance into the capital fund to pay for these improvement projects. There will be no increase in school taxes as a result of this Proposition.

For more information, please call the District Clerk at (516) 441-4020.
