Great Neck faculty recital coming up on Oct. 24

The annual Great Neck Public Schools Faculty Recital will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m., at South High School General Purpose Room, 341 Lakeville Rd., featuring music provided by school faculty and friends.

Performing solo or in groups, instrumental and vocal musicians hope to deliver concert-hall-caliber presentations. Highlights from the evening include music from The Beatles, Frederic Chopin, Stephen Flaherty, Jason Robert Brown, Armand Russell, Franz Schubert, and more.

Suggested ticket prices, at the door, are $5 for students and seniors, and $10 for adults. Proceeds will benefit the Music Scholarship Fund, which awards scholarships to graduating seniors who plan to continue musical studies.

Music faculty who will be performing include:

Andrew Denise of South Middle School, Chad Lasky from Saddle Rock, North High’s Pamela Levy and Joseph Rutkowski, Janine Robinson and Michael Schwartz of South High, Jacquelyn Tomlet of Lakeville, district teacher Alexander Swerdlin, North Middle School’s Matthew Trinkwald, and Anthony Virgilio, who teaches in North Middle and South High.

Non-music faculty/administration performers include Zachary Boyt of North Middle, Stephen Goldberg from the Village School, Daniel Holtzman of North High, Stephen Lando, David Manuel and Steve Tringali of South High, Ilana Meredith Schikler from North High and Robert Zahn of South Middle School.

Light refreshments will be available.
