The week of Oct. 21 through Oct. 25 has been designated School Board Recognition Week by the New York State School Boards Association.

At the Oct. 15 Board of Education meeting, representatives from Village School and the S.E.A.L. program expressed their appreciation for Board President Barbara Berkowitz, Vice President Donald Ashkenase, and Trustees Donna Pierez, Rebecca Sassouni, and Jeffrey Shi.

The presentation included a prepared video as well as students speaking about the outstanding educational opportunities that are made possible through the support of the Great Neck Board of Education.

Student representatives presented Board members with a student-created book and certificates as tokens of appreciation.

  1. Why do we need programs like Village School and SEAL when developing countries have 50 students in a classroom? Imagine this, 50 bratty kids in Great Neck in one classroom! It will definitely reduce school taxes! And everyone will be so happy!
