Herricks Board of Ed honors extraordinary students

The Herricks Public Schools Board of Education Meeting on Feb. 27, featured several student recognitions.

Board of Education Vice President Henry Zanetti, board of education trustee Nancy Feinstein and schools superintendent Fino Celano presented certificates to nine National Merit Finalists on behalf of the board and administration.

Jeremy Lau and Jovana Lau were named Nassau County Fencing Champions for Sabre. Both have achieved All Long Island and All-County status and won the “Fencer’s Fencing Award.”

Nicole Chen, Jenna Chin, Gloria Kang, Rohan Khanderia, Christopher Lum, Daniel Min, Michael Paciullo, Shreya Patel and Rahul Singhal were commended for their recognition as National Merit Finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program.

They met high academic standards and completed other rigorous requirements. Members of the board and administration congratulated these students on their outstanding accomplishments.
