On Tuesday, Feb. 26, Herricks Middle School’s Lower Voices Chamber Choir performed at the Herricks Community Center for the Senior Community Service Lunch. This choir is made up of boys who sing tenor and bass and who rehearse once a week after school.

“We are one of the few middle schools on Long Island that have an ensemble specifically for boys with changing voices and I am proud of all of the work they have done so far in their inaugural year as an ensemble,” said Director James Ludwig.

The students sang a varied concert program that included the traditional sea chanty, “Leave Her Johnny,” and the classic, “Country Roads.” There were also solo performances by Achintyaa Gupta, Evan Lam, and Logan Rein.

The Herricks Music Department provides monthly visits to the Senior Center with various groups from all levels.
