Herricks High School senior Sarah Winkler has been named one of the 20 recipients of the Long Island Scholar Artist Award, presented by the Long Island Arts Alliance. She was honored in the music category, along with three other students, and was invited to attend a recent celebratory event.

A talented vocalist, Sarah has been selected to All-State and All-County ensembles multiple times. She attended the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College and participates in the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of New York’s programs. At school, she is a member of the chamber choir and has performed in several musicals including last year’s production of “On the Town.”

Scholar Artists will again be commended at the end of the school year gala at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts on the Campus of LIU-Post. The Herricks Public Schools is proud to congratulate Sarah for this outstanding achievement.
