Students at Munsey Park were given three clues to guess the identity of the mystery reader – Principal Chad Altman - prior to his arrival.

In conjunction with the well-attended community “Guess Who’s Coming to Read?” read-aloud events, principals at both Munsey Park and Shelter Rock elementary schools found time to share their love of reading with their students.

Shelter Rock Principal Richard Roder had storytime with Ms. Shackel’s fourth-graders. Dressed as John Rocco, author of “Blizzard,” he shared a personal childhood story of the Rhode Island Blizzard of ’78. Students had a blast, including fun with snowballs.

Meanwhile, mystery reader Munsey Park Principal Chad Altman read Peter Reynold’s book “North Star” to Ms. McCann’s first graders. Students were given three clues to guess his identity prior to his arrival. The book tells the story of a young boy on his journey of discovery about his life’s direction, carrying the lesson that you have to follow your own path in life.

Special thanks to the Manhasset SCA for sponsoring these reading events.
