Manhasset senior wins scholarship for excellence beyond the classroom

Congratulations to Manhasset Secondary School senior Paul McGuiness, a recipient of the Jodi Shapiro Scholarship Award. Paul was recently honored by the Manhasset Board of Education for this impressive achievement.

The Jodi Shapiro Scholarship Award was created to encourage and support outstanding students who exhibit extraordinary abilities in sports, arts, community service and extracurricular activities beyond the classroom. The Long Island Association of Special Education Administrators established this award to recognize students such as Paul and his accomplishments.

In addition to winning the scholarship, Paul received a Certificate of Excellence from the Manhasset Board, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Vincent Butera and Manhasset Executive Director, District Special Education Program and Services Allison Rushforth.
