Mineola Middle School hosted 10 Long Island middle school teams on April 12 who competed in the first middle school Hackathon in the area. Each district had a team of eight sixth- through eighth-graders who competed in the kidOYO Hackathon, or Code Conquest, in a series of spring-like rounds. To win, students had to complete coding projects that would earn them territories on a map.
