Mineola’s vocalists soar

Three student-musicians from Mineola High School have been accepted to the American Choral Directors Association Eastern Division Honor Choir. The students will be performing with other elite student-musicians from Feb. 27 to March 2.

The Mineola Union Free School District announced eighth-grader Matt Bischoff will perform in the Middle School/Junior High Honor Choir while junior Madeline Irish and senior Isabella Posada will perform in the SSAA Honor Choir.

Founded in 1959, the American Choral Directors Association is a nonprofit professional organization whose central purpose is to promote excellence in choral music through performance, composition, publication, research and teaching. In addition, ACDA strives to elevate choral music’s position in American society through arts advocacy.
