The Island Now

The extraordinary talents of Port’s music and art faculty will be featured at the district’s annual Port Washington Art Faculty Exhibit and Music Faculty Recital on March 27 at 7 p.m.

The event will take place in the auditorium of Paul D. Schreiber High School, and will feature musical performances by Port’s gifted music faculty and a visual art exhibit of original works by Port’s exceptional art teachers. Admission to this event is free and open to the public.

“The district’s art and music faculty showcase is an exciting event for us to recognize our distinguished educators for their talents beyond the classroom,” said Kathleen Mooney, the superintendent of Port Washington School District. “In years past, it has been a remarkable experience to watch our faculty collaborate with one another to put on a wonderful event for our residents. I am looking forward to seeing this year’s talent.”

The night will begin with a selection of pieces from a multitude of genres and historical periods performed by faculty members of Port Washington School District’s music department. During intermission, the audience will have the opportunity to view several art pieces created by the district’s art teachers. The art exhibit includes creations ranging from portraiture to abstract expressionism.

Following the intermission, there will be another performance by members of the music faculty to conclude the evening. Students, families, friends, colleagues, and community members are encouraged to come witness the incredible talent that exists within the district faculty.
