At the beginning of spring, the Global Awareness Club invited the Floral Park Memorial School community to participate in the Reason2Smile project. To raise awareness about the Reason2Smile nonprofit organization and spread good vibes in our school, members of the club created a “What is your reason to smile?” display and made colorful bracelets from recycled beads. The club donated $300 to the Reason2Smile organization.

Last week, Ms. Canone’s AP Human Geography classes joined the project and helped raise an additional $400. The enthusiasm of Ms. Canone’s classes was beyond all expectations! Students came to the library, created custom bracelets and had a friendly competition to see which period would collect more money.

Reason2Smile is a nonprofit organization on a mission to help provide education for children attending the Jambo Jipya School in Kenya and to support the needs of children living at the Jambo Jipya children’s home with food, clothing and health care.
