Roslyn High School Principal Scott Andrews announced that 19 students have been named Commended Students in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program. They are Anthony Barisano, Jasmine Berger, Asher Bykov, Leah Chapman, Daniel Fedida, Drew Goldman, Lucy Huang, Ryan Kim, Kevin Lam, Alex Liu, Samuel Miller, Justin Om, Maleeha Rahman, Mayeesa Rahman, Mark Russ, Lindsey Rust, Michael Sun, Michael Wechsler and Jeffrey Yu.

About 34,000 of the approximately 50,000 high scorers on the 2017 PSAT/NMSQT receive Letters of Commendation in recognition of their outstanding academic promise. Although Commended Students do not continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships, some of these students do become candidates for Special Scholarships sponsored by corporations and businesses.
