Searingtown third grade student Sahil Jhaveri accomplished what many people, including experienced adult writers, consider a lofty goal when he wrote and published his own book, which is now sold on Amazon. Sahil dedicated many months last year to bringing his ideas to life on the pages of “Adventures of Super Chicken” and as a result, is able to take readers on an exciting journey.

Inspired by bedtime stories told by his father, Sahil developed fictional characters and a plot that incorporates suspense, humor and many other components. He carefully edited the text, which uses images by Blueberry Illustrations accompany.

Sahil’s work is also inspiring other children to pursue aspirations as writers – several young readers expressed interest in authoring their own books after learning that the story was written by someone their own age.

“That makes me feel happy,” Sahil said.

While he clearly has a knack for storytelling, Sahil hopes to become a paleontologist when he is older.
