Sewanhaka High School would like to congratulate the valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2020, Ann Saji and Jordan Shamoun.
Saji, who is enrolled in AP Physics, AP Government and AP Calculus classes, has a weighted GPA of 102.27. Throughout her years in high school, she has participated in various clubs and organizations. She is a member of the National Honor Society, as well as department-specific World Language, English, Science, Math, and Career & Technical Education honor societies. Saji also participates in Chess Club, World Cultures Club, Service Club, Green Club, and Italian Club. Additionally, she volunteers at the Elmont Public Library.
Shamoun, who is currently enrolled in AP Physics, Government and Calculus classes, has a weighted GPA of 101.99. She serves as the editor-in-chief of the Class of 2020 Yearbook, as a drum major for the school’s marching band and co-captain of the Jazz Band. Shamoun has been a member of the varsity soccer team since 2016, serving as captain for the past two years. Her extracurriculars also include Science Olympiad and Book Club. In addition, she is a member of the National Honor Society, as well as the departmental Science, Math, English and World Language honor societies.
