Members of the Sewanhaka Central High School District Board of Education honored the district’s fall athletes and athletic teams during its meeting at Sewanhaka High School on Jan. 22.
The board and Superintendent Dr. Ralph Ferrie joined district Athletic Director Matt McLees, as well as each school’s athletic directors, in recognizing All-State and All-County athletes, championship and Scholar-Athlete teams from Elmont Memorial, Floral Park Memorial, H. Frank Carey, New Hyde Park Memorial and Sewanhaka high schools. They also acknowledged those designated as Fall Conference Coaches of the Year. Congratulations to Elmont Memorial’s girls soccer coach Renee Chin, and girls volleyball coach Teresa Ianniello.
All of the honorees were presented a certificate of recognition by members of the board, Dr. Ferrie, their respective building principals and athletic directors.
