Sewanhaka High School business students visited “The People’s Court,” an arbitration-based reality court show that handles small claims disputes in a simulated courtroom setting, on May 15.

While there, they observed Judge Marilyn Milian dispense justice and provide legal insight on a variety of cases. The students heard several cases, including a disgruntled tenant who breached her lease contract, a used-car warranty gone wrong and an opera singer who was kicked out of her apartment without warning.

Later, Judge Milian greeted students and allowed them to ask questions regarding her career. Students expressed that the trip was both fun and a great learning experience, and many look forward to returning next year.
