Students from the Sewanhaka Central High School District Robotics Club completed their season on March 3 at the FIRST Tech Challenge Regional Championship, sponsored by the School-Business Partnerships of Long Island.

Based on their outstanding performance, Sewanhaka advanced to the final round and finished as a member of the second-place alliance. Sewanhaka was aligned with a team from Harborfields High School and a team from the Longwood Youth Sports Association in the final round.

Sewanhaka’s team was also recognized by the judges with the Motivate Award, which celebrates the team that best exemplifies the essence of the competition through team spirit and enthusiasm.

Beginning in September, Sewanhaka’s Robotics Club members logged over 500 hours in meetings, performed community service events, and met with various professionals to learn more about careers in science, technology, and engineering.
