During the week of Oct. 21, Sewanhaka High School students participated in Sewanhaka Fit Week. Fit Week consisted of five days of health and wellness activities that helped to grow students’ minds and bodies.

Throughout the week students could sign up to participate in a variety of activities including mindfulness lessons, stress management classes, and meditation sessions. In addition to these activities that help students develop as self-reflective learners, there were also several physical activities for students to enjoy. Coaches and teachers taught clinics on basketball, softball, and soccer, and local trainers also came in to provide fitness, Zumba and boxing classes for students and faculty.

Students were also treated to added healthy food options during their lunch periods. The snacks and samples were provided by the students in the Sewanhaka District Culinary Arts program. Students and faculty could also visit the cosmetology students to receive paraffin hand treatments and massages.

The week culminated with Know Your Classmates Day – a celebration of students learning about each other, their backgrounds, and being seen for who they are.
