Student-musicians honored in New Hyde Park-Garden City Park

The musical talents of students from Manor Oaks and Hillside Grade schools in the New Hyde Park-Garden City Park School District were celebrated at the Board of Education meeting on Dec. 10.

The evening began with sixth-graders from both schools performing a wonderful rendition of “Silver Bells” to the delight of all those in attendance. It continued with fourth-grade All-County students, who performed at the Parents, Educators and Kids Festival on Nov. 17 at Freeport High School being honored. The students took part in workshops and had the opportunity to sing with other student-musicians from Nassau County. Hillside Grade School students Mia Joy Alana, Jacob Bolder, Deanna D’Urso, Regina Mejia and Brigid O’Connor, and Manor Oaks students Nakita Bansal, Aisling Booth, Hassan Chaudry, Ivan Mrakovic and Vrunda Patel were all congratulated.
