Great Neck South High School seniors Andersen Gu and Noah Sheidlower have been named semifinalists in the 2019 Coca-Cola Scholars Program, one of the largest corporate-sponsored, achievement-based scholarship programs in the nation. This year’s program will award 150 college scholarships worth $20,000.

Approximately 1,900 high school seniors were selected as semifinalists from a pool of 95,715 applicants from across the country, based on their academic excellence, leadership, and service in school and community activities.

Semifinalists are required to complete a second application that includes additional information on their academic and volunteer work, multiple essays, and academic recommendations from school leaders. After a review of these applications, 250 Semifinalists will advance as Regional Finalists, with 150 becoming Coca-Cola Scholars.
