Seven Bridges Road Band to play Plaza

The Island Now

The Seven Bridges Road Band will be performing Tuesday, July 16, at 8 p.m., at Firefighters’ Park in the Village of Great Neck Plaza.

“Seven Bridges Road Band will be making a return to the Plaza and it is sure to be a rousing night filled with dancing to classic rock’s most celebrated hits,” Village of Great Neck Plaza Mayor Jean Celender said.

Seven Bridges Road’s performance of “Rock and Roll Through the Decades (‘50s-’80s) will feature vocal pieces by the Beatles, Eagles, and Doobie Brothers among others.

Though their repertoire is extensive, each and every song is instantaneously recognizable, danceable, and of course a “classic.”

When asked how they conquer the intricate harmonies, guitarist/vocalist Kevin Leonard sights the Eagles Circle of Fear, a method in which the band faces one another, with just an acoustic guitar: “You’re there looking at one another. There’s no place to hide. We know when it isn’t right. And we don’t stop until we get it. Sometimes it’s right away. Sometimes it takes weeks. But once we get it, it’s always worth the wait.”

In case of inclement weather, the concert performance will be moved to the Great Neck Senior Center at 80 Grace Avenue).

Check with village staff at the Village Hall on the day of the concert, or call our voicemail after 5 p.m. at (516) 482 – 4500. The village will have a recorded message if the day’s scheduled concert has been moved from Firefighters’ Park to the senior center. We will also have an announcement on our Village website, www.greatneckplaza.net, in the case of inclement weather.

The concert is hosted by the Great Neck Park District.

The Plaza’s concerts are sponsored this year by The Andrew Hotel, Astoria Federal Savings Bank, Daruma of Tokyo, Great Neck Arts Center, Jildor Shoes and Tokyo Naru Sushi.
