Sewanhaka hosts FIRST Robotics Tournament

Sewanhaka Central High School District hosted the FIRST Tech Challenge RELIC RECOVERY Qualifying Tournament in the Sewanhaka High School’s new addition on Jan. 27-28.

A total of 47 teams from both Nassau and Suffolk counties participated at the two-day event, and the district Robotics Club was recognized with an Inspire Award for their efforts and performance. The Inspire Award is given to the team that is a strong ambassador for FIRST Robotics programs and a role model FIRST team. The district robotics team will next compete at the Long Island Regional championship in Smithtown on Feb. 11 for the opportunity to advance to the East Super-Regional championships.
