Homecoming victory for LIU Post

LIU Post celebrated homecoming with a football game against Southern Connecticut University on Saturday, Oct. 14 at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium on campus.

The Pioneers took the victory with a final score of 52-35. The team scored seven touchdowns during the homecoming game, with two per quarter except for the third quarter, when they scored one.

LIU Post quarterback Yianni Gavalas threw 375 yards passing during the game.

Running back Malik Pierre ran the ball a total of 169 yards.

This game was the victory the Pioneers needed after losing two games in a row.

The LIU Post football team record is now 3-2 for the season, with the team in fourth place in the conference, behind Bentley University.

The Pioneers’ next game is against American International College on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 12 p.m. in Springfield, Mass.
