The Mineola Lady Mustangs defeated the Herricks Lady Highlanders 12-4 in lacrosse on Wednesday afternoon, led by Allison Mendes’ four-goal game.

Mineola head coach Frank Massaro said their defense was strong and it led to an excellent transition game.

Herricks head coach Lauren Marra said their top players were shut down by Mineola’s transition game.

“Their transition game forced us to make a lot turnovers,” Marra said. “That was probably our biggest challenge in this game. We’re gonna work on transitioning and pitching in offensively.”
