Suspect sought in Mineola sandwich robbery

Nassau County police are looking for a suspect who they said robbed Subway sandwich shop in Mineola at gunpoint Tuesday evening.

Detectives said a black male armed with a handgun and wearing a black jacket, gray sweatshirt, tan boots and blue jeans entered the Subway restaurant at 468 Jericho Turnpike and demanded money from the store employee. 

The 23-year-old male victim complied, police said, and the suspect fled on foot northbound on White Road with an undisclosed amount of cash. 

According to police, no injuries were reported and the victim was alone in the store at the time of the robbery.
