Butterfly and Bird Festival

Saturday, June 8, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Come to Sweetbriar’s grand opening of their enclosed Butterfly Garden, where children can get up close with the colorful flying critters. There will also be musical entertainment, crafts, games, face painting, animal shows, and craft vendors. Admission is $20 per family.

Story Time & Activities featuring ‘Moon’s First Friends: One Giant Leap for Friendship’

From high up in the sky, the Moon has spent her whole life watching Earth and hoping for someone to visit. When is it her turn? Join this free story time and activities, and get a coupon from the Café for a grilled cheese sandwich with milk or juice for $4.

Musical: ‘My Butterfly’

When a newly-appointed yard elf accidentally pulls up a milkweed, she becomes responsible for a butterfly egg. With the help of a feisty fairy, she works to protect and nurture her new caterpillar friend through metamorphosis and onto a high-flying happy ending in this musical that encourages audiences to plant milkweed to transform butterflies into soaring sensations.

Butterfly Tea Party

Saturday, June 8, 2 to 4 p.m.

Discover what makes a butterfly an insect, make a cute craft and take a walk around the preserve in search of butterflies.  Fluttery friends may join the party as participants enjoy iced tea and tasty treats. $9 for adults and children.

Museum Adventures

Thursday, June 13, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
