A Boy Named Charlie Brown

Charlie Brown makes his way to the national spelling bee finals. This is the 50th Anniversary of this animated feature film and first time it will be presented in the theatre since its release in 1969. Nominated for an Oscar in 1971 for “Best Original Music/Song Score” by Vince Guaraldi, “A Boy Named Charlie Brown” projects the innocence of Schulz’s charming characters with glee and takes them on a most spectacular adventure.

Summer Family Festival
Saturday, Aug. 31, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Holy Trinity Orthodox Church will host its annual festival on Saturday, Aug. 31 (rain or shine) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  It will feature Greek, Eastern European and BBQ foods, gift basket auction, pony rides, petting zoo, face painting, live Slavic music by “Barynya,” live acoustic American music in the afternoon, flea market, and a cash prizes raffle. There will be prayer services and church tours throughout the day. 
Admission is free.

Sand Creation Contest
Sunday, Sept. 1, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Let the sands of Fire Island spark your creativity during this annual end of summer sand sculpting contest. All ages and skills are welcome. Contest theme: By the Sea. Judging starts at 1 p.m.; Awards and prizes at 2 p.m. Sign up on the beach near the lifeguard stand starting at 11 a.m.

2019 Ronkonkoma Chamber of Commerce Annual Street Fair
Sunday, Sept. 1, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The annual Ronkonkoma Chamber of Commerce Street Fair will be taking place on Sunday, Sept. 1 this year on Hawkins Avenue, between Portion Road and Wittridge Road. The event will feature plenty of food and merchandise vendors along the street with fun for the whole family to check out.

The Wiggles ‘Party Time Tour’

Hey, hey, hey, The Wiggles are coming to the USA! “The Party Time Tour!” will feature Dorothy the Dinosaur, Captain Feathersword, Wags the Dog, Henry the Octopus and a brand new Wiggly friend, Shirley Shawn the Unicorn. You can sing and dance along to all your favorite classic Wiggles songs as well as plenty of new favorites.
