Town officials celebrate Pride in Port weekend

Town of North Hempstead Council Members Mariann Dalimonte and Viviana Russell, along with Town Clerk Wayne Wink were proud to celebrate Pride in Port weekend, an annual tradition dating back to 1988.

The event kicked off with the Athletic Hall of Fame Breakfast at Paul D. Schreiber High School. The breakfast included an induction ceremony honoring Marianne Berndt (Class of 1997), Marco Bertolotti, (Class of 2010), Keith Owens (Class of 1983), Raquel Wilson Pirano (Class of 1991), and Dimitris Vattes (Class of 1997).

Following the breakfast, the 32nd annual Pride in Port Parade took over Main Street and featured Grand Marshal Chief Robert DelMuro of the Port Washington Police Department, who is celebrating his 40th anniversary with the department.

Additional activities included a Family Fun Day event, Senior Lunch, and football game. The Port Washington Community Chest COVID-19 Community Response Working Group was also honored for their dedication to Port Washington residents during the COVID-19 pandemic.
