Floral Park’s Virtual Enterprise team, FACE IT! conducted its first in-school trade show on March 12 and it was a resounding success.

The inspiration behind FACE IT! came from its senior management team, youngsters who are athletic, fashionable and fierce competitors. As young athletes, each team member has faced a time when they’ve hit an athletic slump, and the positive words of a coach, mentor or peer has helped pull them through that slump. This suggested a simple question to them: “How can we make motivational words a constant reminder for athletes?” The ideal solution became “wear them!” And with that thought came the birth of the e-commerce retailer and fitness apparel brand named FACE IT! All FACE IT! consumers need to worry about is choosing their favorite type of sports apparel, applying a “life” mantra and opening their door to a finely crafted package that speaks to their outer fashionista and their inner mindset. With several apparel types to choose from, for both men and women, FACE IT! is a diverse company and can guarantee consumer satisfaction.

It was this very concept and pitch students presented to their peers, teachers and administrators during their trade show, with the ultimate goal of maximizing revenue by selling their merchandise. Virtual Enterprise students used brochures and their website to highlight their products and gave each consumer a virtual credit card to purchase from their website. Each consumer was asked to take an exit survey so students could gather feedback on how to improve their concept and services for the next trade show. This interaction allowed the team to use its presentation, negotiation and decision-making skills, all while highlighting what the Virtual Enterprise program entails.

Students are looking forward to making this an annual event at Floral Park Memorial.
