The Nassau County Police Department has issued a traffic advisory for Manhasset motorists in the vicinity of a funeral service for Ryan Kiess, one of three local high school graduates killed at the scene of a head-on car collision in Quogue.
Police advise motorists may experience heavy traffic conditions this Friday, Aug. 6, near the Church of Our Savior, Lutheran, on Northern Boulevard, according to a release from Nassau County Police.
The funeral service will begin at 11:30 p.m., according to clergy. Motorists should travel on alternate roadways, when possible, police officials say.
Kiess’ service comes one week after brothers Michael and James Farrell, 20 and 25, were laid to rest at Nassau Knolls Cemetery following a funeral at The Archangel Michael Church.
A Suffolk County Sheriff, Suffolk County Police and Port Washington Police motorcade led their procession from the church up W Shore Road for a private burial. Between both the Farrell’s wake and funeral, clergy estimated there were 5,000 mourners.
The sole survivor, Brianne Maglio, 24 of Garden City, is hospitalized in critical condition.
