Nassau County police arrested two people in connection with a robbery that occurred around midnight on Tuesday in East Williston.

According to Nassau County detectives, Joseph Santalucia and Ariana Meadows were  arrested without incident at their residence in East Williston for allegedly robbing a 50-year-old man.

Police gave this account: the victim was waiting in his vehicle at the intersection of Downing Road and Roslyn Road for Meadows, 26. She arrived and entered the victim’s car through the front passenger side. Shortly thereafter, Santalucia, 26, who was unknown to the victim, entered the back of the vehicle and demanded that the victim drive.

Santalucia forced the victim to drop off Meadows, then placed an unknown object against the victim’s head, making him fear for his life. The two drove to Congress Avenue, where Santalucia demanded money, and the victim complied. Santalucia then fled on foot, and no injuries were reported.

Santalucia was charged with first- and second-degree robbery and criminal possession of a weapon in the third-degree. Meadows was charged with first- and second-degree robbery. Both defendants were arraigned Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
