Floral Park-Bellerose School fifth graders were challenged to design and race Cubelet Robot Blocks during a recent computers and technology lesson.
Computer teacher Heather Leary separated the students into teams and encouraged them to work together to assign the roles of facilitator, mediator, recorder and materials manager. The teams then used their knowledge of Sense, Think and Act Cubelets to engineer the fastest robot. The class was excited as they raced their Cubelet robots and had an opportunity to rethink their designs and race again. Ms. Leary said the Cubelet Robot Blocks are fostering the 21st-century learning skills of critical thinking, creative thinking, collaboration and communication.
