Garden festival at Planting Fields

The state Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and the Planting Fields Foundation are pleased to announce a new summer garden festival is taking place at Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic Park, Oyster Bay on Saturday, July 16, and Sunday, July 17 from 2 to 8 p.m. (rain or shine).  

The festival is a collaborative effort between Planting Fields Foundation and the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.

Activities Include:

• Pony Rides.

• Kids Craft Tent

• Inflatable Games

• Jumbo Yard Games, Sack Races

• Beer & Doughnut Tastings by the Oyster Bay Brewing Company and Doughology

• Trackless Train Ride

• Live music with Banjo Nickaru & the Western Scooches; • Strummin’ & Drummin’; the Hambones

• Dance Performances

• Storytelling with the Pink Pony “Blossom”

• Square Dancing with Chart Guthrie’s Band

Exhibits Include:

• *NEW* Great Ocean Liners 1900-1950 at Coe Hall – 2 to 8 p.m.

Just Added to festival: Coe Hall will have four rooms decorated with floral displays for our Summer Garden Festival.  

There will be one very large display about six feet tall and 12 feet long, all fresh flowers and some paintings as well.

Admission to the Summer Garden Festival is $20 per vehicle.  

Once you enter the park, all activities, pony rides, square dancing, beer/donut tasting, exhibits, and shows are free.  All proceeds benefit Planting Fields.
