Healing Headbands Project Inc ., a New York non-profit organization that combines the healing power of laughter and art to create and heal through its custom Laugh Create Heal workshops, will be holding its first ‘ArtHeals’ fundraiser on May 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Tilles Center at Long Island University.

The fundsraiser will be used to expand the program into more children’s hospitals, community organizations and schools throughout the country.

“We’re so passionate about helping people feel better through our laughter and arts program. Every dollar that’s raised at our ArtHeals Fundraiser will go toward the expansion of the Laugh Create Heal workshops,” said Barbara Grapstein, Healing Headbands Project founder.

Joanie Accolla, Barbara’s co-founder adds, “We expect an incredible evening of performances that highlight the arts and laughter. We’re bringing together a variety of art forms including fashion, culinary, live interactive art and dance performances, plus an auction of never before seen art. There’s truly something for everyone!”

The ArtHeals Fundraiser is designed to be an immersive experience that encourages attendees to laugh and create their own art to personally experience the joy of the Healing Headbands Project. The live auction is one of the evening’s highlights, and will showcase one-of-a kind artwork by prestigious artisans in their respective fields of music, dance, comedy, literature and the culinary arts. To add to the excitement, the auction will feature art created in a Laugh Create Heal workshop by Donna Karan, Keith Richards, Mariano Rivera and Madan Kataria – all luminaries in their respective fields of fashion, entertainment, sports and laughter yoga.
