Readers Write: Pidot challenges GOP party elites

The Island Now

After four months, Philip “Flip” Pidot has won the court battles to give voters a choice in the primary.

Meanwhile, Martins is still fighting. Martins motion to move the general election to a new date was rejected but, unbelievably, Martins is appealing to yet another federal court.

He also wants the Board of Elections to stop mailing military ballots! I have never before seen a politician more afraid of facing a primary election.

This is exactly why we need Flip Pidot in Congress, a private sector professional and former corporate fraud investigator.

He is a conservative political reformer and has the tools to achieve those goals.

The endless Martins litigation shows exactly why reform is needed — to prevent the powerful and entrenched elites from monopolizing political power and cementing themselves into elected office.

Voters should take note that this is just one step in the rebirth of a new citizen-driven engagement, as evidenced by the success of “outsider” candidates.

Flip Pidot is just such a citizen-politician.

Martins and the entrenched political elites are doing everything to prevent you from getting the chance to vote for Flip.

Elections should be won at debates, not in the courtroom. Flip Pidot challenged Martins to five debates, all of which Martins declined.

The League of Women Voters has not been able to get Martins to commit, either.

Let’s fight to ensure that the voters of NY CD-3 get every opportunity to hear all of the candidates present their views in open, well advertised, public venues.

It is up to us to force Martins out into the open to defend his policies.

Invite Flip Pidot to speak in town hall meetings, visit his website (www.PidotforCongress.com), “like” him on Facebook.

Make your voice heard and do not let the entrenched political machine win.
