Readers Write: Thank you Manhasset residents for supporting community fund

The Island Now

In the several years since I stepped into the role of President of the Manhasset Community Fund, I’ve been awed by the ability of our community to help our local charities – even in the face of the global pandemic.

Thanks to donors, the MCF is able to support large numbers of our neighbors facing food and housing insecurity as well as extreme emotional distress.  In particular, we provided emergency funds for a large refrigerator to the Shelter Rock Pantry.

But what’s proven equally impressive are the hundreds of dedicated supporters who help keep our charities going.  Year after year, hundreds of Manhasset residents have helped support our grants to combat bullying, cancer, child abuse, domestic violence, drug abuse, and mental illness.  Their trust has inspired our volunteer board to keep going.

With the world changing at what seems an impossible pace, we are committed to non-profit programs that help those suffering in our community.  Their challenges affect us all.  Please consider donating online at www.manhassetcommunity fund.org

With gratitude,

John Morse

President
