Readers write: Wink should be re-elected as town clerk

The Island Now

As a resident of the Town of North Hempstead, I strongly endorse Wayne Wink for another four years as town clerk.

Wayne has cut his department’s budget, streamlined services, and in general made sure that everything done by the town clerk’s office serves me, the taxpayer, as efficiently as possible.

I am pleased to see that Wayne is a firm believer in transparency.

The digital agenda system he installed allows me to look over his and the rest of the town government’s shoulder from my own home, allowing me to check on town agendas, resolutions, and calendar items online.

Wayne takes his knowledge and experience and puts them to the service of the people of the Town of North Hempstead. Even Wayne’s fellow town clerks in the Nassau/Suffolk Town Clerk’s Association respect his integrity and ability, electing him to be their president.

As a resident and a taxpayer, I know Wayne is making sure that every penny of the town budget is working hard for me, my family, and my neighbors.

I endorse Wayne Wink for town clerk, and hope you will join me in re-electing him.
