Two NHP seniors named National Merit Seminfinalists

The Island Now

New Hyde Park Memorial High School seniors Nicole Joseph and Emily Yuan have been selected as semifinalists in the 64th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.

Every year, an estimated 1.6 million high school students across the nation enter this academic competition by taking the PSAT/NMSQT, and approximately 16,000 of them are identified as semifinalists. Those who achieve this level of distinction represent the highest-scoring entrants in each state and have the opportunity to advance to finalist status, with the prospect of winning scholarship awards.
