A Williston Park man died Sunday morning after crashing his car in Garden City Park, Nassau County police said.
Thomas G. Saccende, 58, was driving north on Herricks Road near Wilson Boulevard at 5:30 a.m. when he crashed his 2010 Nissan into a traffic signal pole, police said.
Saccende suffered severe internal bleeding and Garden City firefighters took him to Winthrop-University Hospital, where a doctor prounounced him dead at 6:14 a.m., police said.
One person witnessed the accident, and police are investigating what caused it, but there is no apparent criminality, police said. Saccende’s vehicle was impounded for a brake and safety check, police said.
