Woman injured in Lake Success car crash

The Island Now

A 43-year-old woman was left seriously injured after three vehicles collided on the Long Island Expressway in Lake Success late Thursday evening, Nassau County police said.
Police said a 2003 Acura SUV was traveling westbound on the LIE when it came to a stop and was rear ended by a 2001 Acura about 11:49 p.m.
The 2001 Acura, police said, was then rear ended by a 2010 Toyota.
Police said the female passenger in the Toyota was not wearing a seat belt and was thrust forward and left unconscious.
She was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and was listed in critical condition, police said. There were no other reported injuries.
Police said there was “no apparent” criminality.
All three vehicles were impounded at the scene for brake and safety inspections, police said.
