A Westbury man was arrested after allegedly running over a man and woman following a parking spot dispute in Mineola on Sunday at 4:55 p.m., police said.

The victims, a 52-year-old female and a 38-year-old male, were taken to an area hospital to be treated for nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.

Anthony Scott, 37, of 21 Parkwood Road, got into a “verbal argument” with the three people, the driver and passenger of a car and another individual, over a parking space, police said.

Scott double-parked and got out of his car on Jericho Turnpike near the intersection of Mineola Boulevard, police said.

Following a “brief physical altercation” the individuals started walking back toward the sidewalk when Scott, already back in his car, put it in drive and allegedly struck the two victims intentionally, police said.

The 52-year-old woman fell off the hood of the car and struck the pavement, police said.

Her legs were run over by Scott’s car, police said.

The 38-year-old man held onto the windshield wiper and was ejected from the hood of the car and struck the ground, causing a head and neck injury, police said.

Scott’s license plate number was obtained at the scene and officers arrested him at his home, police said.

He was allegedly found to be in possession of various substances including tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), Alprazolam and Oxycodone, police said.

Scott is charged with two counts of second-degree assault, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree reckless endangerment, four counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of leaving the scene of a personal injury auto accident.

Scott was arraigned on Monday at First District Court in Hempstead where a judge adjourned the case. Scott is held on $25,000 bond or $12,500 cash.

He is set to appear in court again next Monday.
