Board of Trustees Meeting at Main
The next regular meeting of the Great Neck Library Board of Trustees is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue. All are welcome. Contact the Library at (516) 466-8055 to confirm that there has been no change in meeting date, time or location.

Simply Me Performed by Mitchell Robert at Main
Mitchell Robert will perform “Simply Me,” a musical show about one man bringing back reality to the art of living, on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 2:00 p.m. in the Community Room of the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue. Enjoy an afternoon filled with family entertainment in this high energy, sentimental performance including comedy and a variety of songs. Pianist John Bowen will accompany Mitchell on the piano.

Hot Topics in Weather and Climate presented by Jase Bernhardt at Main
Take a break from the cold weather outside to learn more about the current state of our climate on Monday, Feb. 26 at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room of the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue.

Jase Bernhardt will recap the winter, look ahead to the spring, and discuss other key topics including hurricanes and climate change. At the end of the discussion, participants will have the opportunity to view a virtual reality simulation of a hurricane landfall, created as part of ongoing research at Hofstra University.

Jase E. Bernhardt, Phd is an assistant professor in Hofstra’s Dept. of Geology, Environment and Sustainability. He is developing research and coursework in climatology and meteorology. Bernhardt maintains ProjectWX at Hofstra, comprising of three weather stations on Hofstra’s campus.

Classic SciFi Book Club at Parkville
Come to this new book club to discuss classic science fiction books on the last Tuesday of the month from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Parkville Branch, 10 Campbell Street (off Lakeville Road), New Hyde Park. A book will be reserved for you when you register, or you can bring your own (please allow one to two weeks for the book to arrive). On Tuesday, Feb. 27 the book will be 1984 by George Orwell. Chess at Main
Enjoy a game of chess each Wednesday from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room of the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue. All skill levels are welcome.

Enjoy a game of Scrabble on Wednesdays from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., now at the Station Branch, 26 Great Neck Road (2nd level), Gardens at Great Neck Plaza, above Best Market. Please note new day of the week and location.

Wednesday Matinee Film at Main
The next Wednesday Matinee at Main, features the adventures of an eccentric, resilient and tight-knit family, will be shown on Wednesday, February 28 at 2:00 p.m. at the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue.

Encore Film at Station
The next encore film, about the adventures of an eccentric, resilient and tight-knit family, will be shown on March 1 at 2 p.m. at the Station Branch, 26 Great Neck Road (2nd level), Gardens at Great Neck Plaza, above Best Market.

In The Main Gallery: Manhasset Art Association’s On the Easel and Through the Lens
On the Easel and Through the Lens will be on display in the Library Gallery, Main Building lower level, 159 Bayview Avenue, from March 1 until April 17, and represents the varied talents of and media used by the Manhasset Art Association. The exhibition will be judged by artist and art professor, Thomas Germano.

Socrates Salon with Conversation Host Ron Gross at Main
