Broadway Showstoppers at Main
an Original Musical Revue
Broadway Showstoppers, a professional musical revue featuring highlight moments from the most popular shows ever produced on the Great White Way, will perform on Sunday, June 10 at 2 p.m. in the Community Room of the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue.
Sung by a cast of talented theatrical artists, with live accompaniment, Helene Tiger and Joanne Fried create, produce, direct, and choreograph all of these original productions. Both have also each directed and choreographed a number of well-known productions including Fiddler on The Roof, The Music Man, Annie and many more.

Judge Joseph F. Bianco will discuss the selection process for federal judges, cases and issues litigated in the federal court on Long Island, and the challenges facing our criminal justice system on Monday, June 11 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue.
Judge Joseph F. Bianco was appointed as a United States District Judge in the Eastern District of New York in 2006. He was Chief of the Organized Crime and Terrorism Unit in the Southern District of New York. He is currently an adjunct professor at St. John’s University School of Law, Hofstra University School of Law, and Touro Law Center.
Bob Hope and Jack Benny: It’s All in the Timing presented by Sal St. George at Main
Sal St. George will examine the comedy of Bob Hope and Jack Benny when he presents It’s All in the Timing on Tuesday, June 12 at 2 p.m. in the Community Room of the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue.
Jack Benny and Bob Hope were both acknowledged for being masters of comedic timing. They each had opposite styles with one common result: they were two very funny men and beloved comedy icons.
Sal St. George is an adjunct professor and pop culture historian. For the past 35 years he has created historical theater for some of the nation’s largest and best-known living history museums. St. George Living History Productions brings history to life by telling the stories behind the story.
Wednesday Matinee Film at Main
The next Wednesday Matinee at Main, about the life and controversial death of Vincent Van Gogh, will be shown on Wednesday, June 13 at 2 p.m. at the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue.

Wines of Italy presented by Elena Florenzano at Main
Join Elena Florenzano of Thinking Italian for a discussion of the most popular Italian wines and see slides of the different regions and wineries where these wines are produced on Wednesday, June 13 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue. Although the program does not include wine tasting, participants will learn how to order wines in a restaurant, read the wine label and pair wines with different foods.

Librarian Mimi Rabizadeh discusses scientist Bruce Lipton’s research on mind-body-spirit connection and how your beliefs can affect your biology and health in this series on Thursday, June 14 at 12 p.m. in the Large Multipurpose Room of the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue.

The next encore film, about the life and controversial death of Vincent Van Gogh, will be shown on Thursday, June 14 at 2 p.m. at the Station Branch, located on the second level of 26 Great Neck Road, Gardens at Great Neck Plaza.

Access your authentic voice and explore the power of imagination, self-expression and storytelling at this writing workshop facilitated by Lynda Aron on Friday, June 15 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Large Multipurpose Room of the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue. Sharing is encouraged but not required.
Published author Lynda Aron has taught writing workshops and book discussion groups for the past thirty years. She has taught in high schools, universities, community centers such as Gilda’s Club in Manhattan, her salon, and hospitals worldwide.
