Pet Food Drive at Main
Assemblyman Anthony D’Urso, 16th Assembly District, in partnership with Long Island Cares is holding an Annual Legislative Pet Food Drive. All Great Neck Library locations are accepting donations of unopened cans and/or bags of dog and cat food, cat box litter, treats and toys during the entire month of April. All donations are appreciated.
Found Poetry from Old Books with Librarian Christy Orquera at Main
Enjoy an evening of creativity while helping to save the planet on Tuesday, April 3 at 7:00 p.m. at the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue.
Upcycle discarded books to create “found poetry” and art. You’ll learn how to “find” poetry and create something truly one-of-a-kind by choosing words or phrases from any page of any book and reframing it into a literary collage. AARP Tax Assistance at Parkville
AARP Tax Preparers will assist in preparing and filing simple Federal tax returns online on Wednesdays between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. through April 11 at the Parkville Branch, 10 Campbell Street (off Lakeville Road), New Hyde Park. Wednesday Matinee Film at Main
The next Wednesday Matinee at Main, about the friendship of Queen Victoria and a young Indian clerk named Abdul, will be shown on Wednesday, April 4 at 2:00 p.m. at the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue.
Blood Pressure Screenings at Station
Have your blood pressure checked by a clinical nurse from St. Francis Hospital, free of charge on Thursdays, April 5, May 3 and June 7 between 12:00 and 2:00 p.m. at the Station Branch, 26 Great Neck Road (2nd level), above Best Market, Gardens at Great Neck Plaza.

Applications are being accepted from interested Association members to fill one seat expiring in January 2019 on the Board of Trustees.
Individuals should send a letter and résumé by the extended date of Friday, April 6 to: The Chair of the Nominating Committee, c/o The Director’s Office, Great Neck Library, 159 Bayview Avenue, Great Neck, NY 11023.
Applicants must be a resident of the Great Neck School District and at least 18 years of age or older, and either have a valid Great Neck Library card or be a registered voter with the Nassau County Board of Elections.
